Silver spinner ring

Course Description:

Join us for a fun and hands-on one-day workshop where you'll get to explore traditional jewellery-making techniques. You’ll start by creating a thick band ring, where you can choose your own design and width. Then, you'll make smaller rings to create the spinning part, picking from different wire types to suit your style. Finally, you'll flare the ring to hold the spinning bands in place.

Along the way, you'll pick up important skills like sawing, soldering, texturing, shaping, and polishing. With demonstrations and one-on-one support from the instructor, you’ll leave the class with a stunning handmade silver spinning ring.

Perfect for beginners, this workshop is a great way to dive into jewellery making, offering a blend of creativity and craftsmanship in a relaxed setting.

Cabochon bezel setting

Course Description:

Learn how to set a cabochon stone using traditional bezel setting techniques in this hands-on, one-day jewellery-making workshop.

You’ll start by choosing a round or oval cabochon gemstone from a selection of beautiful stones, then design and create a sterling silver setting to suit it. Step-by-step, you’ll build a bezel to fit your stone, solder it securely, and refine the setting before placing and securing the stone in place.

Along the way, you’ll learn essential jewellery-making techniques such as measuring and shaping bezel wire, sawing, soldering, filing, and polishing. With plenty of one-on-one guidance and demonstrations, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to create a beautiful, professionally finished piece of jewellery featuring your chosen stone.

Perfect for beginners and those looking to expand their skills, this course offers a focused and rewarding introduction to stone setting. You’ll leave with a finished silver pendant or ring — and the knowledge to keep creating.

Sand casting

Course Description:

In this hands-on one-day workshop, you’ll learn the full process of sand casting, a traditional jewellery-making technique that allows you to create unique sterling silver pieces using simple, effective methods.

Whether you're a complete beginner or have some experience, this course will guide you through every step — from mould-making to finishing your own wearable creation.

what is sand casting:

Sand casting is the process of duplicating an existing object by pressing it into a special type of sand to create a mould, which is then filled with molten metal.

I have a wide selection of objects you can choose from — including shells, love hearts, shark teeth, and more — but you’re also welcome to bring something small of your own that you’d like to replicate in silver.

⚠️ Please note: Not all objects are suitable for sand casting due to shape, size, or detail. We’ll assess your item before casting and discuss alternative options if needed.

  • Course duration: 10:00am to 3:30/4:00pm

  • Course cost: £120 per person

(Silver weight included depending on size of item cast, anything over 20 grams will be priced on the day rate of silver)

Lost wax casting

Course Description:

In this two-day workshop, you’ll discover the ancient art of wax carving — a traditional technique used by jewellers to create intricate designs that are later cast into metal. This course is ideal for anyone wanting to create a bespoke piece of jewellery.

Day 1, you’ll carve your design in wax using a range of tools and techniques. Once complete, your wax model will be sent off to be cast in the metal of your choice.

There is a one-week break between sessions to allow time for the casting process.

Day 2, you’ll clean and refine your cast piece, removing the sprue and polishing the surface. You’ll also learn how to attach any final components, such as jump rings, earring posts, or other findings to complete your design.

Metal is charged by weight at the end of the session.

By the end of the course, you’ll have a beautifully finished, one-of-a-kind piece of jewellery — designed and created entirely by you.
