About Me:

Hi, I’m Rebecca Forster, a jewellery maker and educator passionate about helping others discover the joy of creating beautiful, meaningful pieces by hand. With 12 years of experience in metalwork and design, I specialize in techniques like sand casting, silver smithing, and custom fabrication.

I worked in the Jewellery Quarter in Birmingham as a goldsmith for 2 years as well as getting a degree at Birmingham City University for jewellery making and design which both furthered my knowledge of the industry.

I started these courses to share not just the skills, but the magic of turning raw materials into wearable art. Whether you're a complete beginner or an enthusiast looking to refine your technique, my goal is to provide practical, inspiring lessons that empower you to create with confidence.

Every piece of jewellery tells a story. I’d love to help you tell yours.

  • No experience is necessary! Our courses are designed for complete beginners as well as those with some prior knowledge.

  • you will not have to bring any tools, metal or equipment it will be provided for you.

  • by the end of your course you will go away with silver jewellery that you created with your own hands

Silver Jewellery Aftercare

To keep your piece looking beautiful for years to come, follow these simple care tips:

šŸ’§ Avoid Moisture

  • Remove your jewellery before swimming, bathing, or using cleaning products.

  • Moisture and chemicals (like chlorine or perfume) can tarnish silver and weaken delicate pieces.

šŸŒ¬ļø Keep it Dry and Clean

  • After wearing, gently wipe your jewellery with a soft, lint-free cloth to remove any oils or dirt.

  • Microfibre or silver polishing cloths are ideal.

šŸŒž Store Properly

  • Store your jewellery in a cool, dry place.

  • Keep pieces in an airtight bag or anti-tarnish pouch to slow oxidation.

  • Avoid direct sunlight or leaving it in humid places like bathrooms.

šŸ’ Wear with Care

  • Put your jewellery on after applying lotion, perfume, or hairspray.

  • Avoid wearing silver jewellery when doing activities that may scratch or bend it, such as gardening or exercising.

🧽 Tarnish Happens — Clean Gently

  • Tarnish is a natural reaction and can be cleaned with a silver polishing cloth.

  • For heavier tarnish, use a mild silver cleaning solution — follow the instructions carefully and rinse thoroughly.

šŸ› ļø Avoid Harsh Cleaners

  • Never use bleach, acetone, or toothpaste — they can permanently damage the silver.

  • Ultrasonic cleaners should only be used if the jewellery has no stones or delicate settings.

🧳 Travel Tip

  • When travelling, pack jewellery separately in soft pouches or cloth rolls to avoid scratches.
